Joshua Waugh

Brisbane-based Cinematographer working across documentary, narrative film and branded projects. His work spans craft-led businesses, endurance sport, and the Australian landscape, from a bakery in Brisbane (SPROUT) to cyclists riding twice the height of Everest in a single day (DOUBLE EVEREST) to the salt flats of Lake Eyre (VALE OBSCURA).

Originally trained as a stills photographer, Joshua brings a strong foundation in composition, light, and visual storytelling to every project. His cinematography is defined by stillness, attention to detail, and an instinct for catching unguarded moments, whether on a documentary location or a controlled commercial set.

He's drawn to people and places, rugged and real aesthetics, athletes, communities, and the landscapes that hold them. His aim is to make images that feel grounded and intimate at a cinematic scale.

Comfortable across stills and motion, and digital and motion-picture film workflows, Joshua works with directors, agencies, and brands, including clients in agriculture, energy, mining, and regional industries across Queensland and beyond, providing end to end video production solutions.

Always happy to meet new collaborators over a coffee.
